It seems like there are a lot of different projects to keep an eye on these days, whether you’re an existing jailbreaker or a potential jailbreaker waiting to be released. With that in mind, it can seem like a daunting task to stay up to date with all these developments. That’s why we’re here.
In this weekend’s roundup, we’ll take a detailed look at all the latest jailbreak news and updates from the week of Monday, October 10th to Sunday, October 16th.
Important news this week
Luca Todesco Demonstrates iOS 16.1 Jailbreak Beta
Luca Todesco, the hacker responsible for the Yalu iOS 10 jailbreak, as well as his efforts to jailbreak checkra1n and develop hacks targeting PongoOS, demonstrated a jailbreak of the iOS 16.1 beta at the Hexacon security conference.
The report also discussed Apple’s increasingly sophisticated security measures and how they affect modern security research.
Fugu15 won’t support iOS 15.5 beta 4
Despite the fact that it was initially stated that the upcoming Fugu15 jailbreak would support iOS and iPadOS versions 15.0-15.5 beta 4, project developer Linus Henze retracted this statement on Monday, realizing that he was mistaken.
The culprit here appears to have been human error, as Henze accidentally tested for iOS 15.4 beta 4 compatibility when he thought he was testing for iOS 15.5 beta 4 compatibility. While some iOS 15.5 betas are likely to be supported, accurate builds are yet unknown. this time, as Henze must now find new compensation.
Palera1n is updated with bug fixes
The Palara1n iOS 15.x jailbreak tool for developers has been updated to version 1.1.1 with a semi-long list of fixes and improvements.
This jailbreak supports the introduction of tethered tweaks on iOS 15.0-15.3.1, however, due to being based on the checkm8 bootloader exploit, it only supports iPhones and iPads with an A9-A11 chip.
File conversion application. deb files. ipa
If you are a TrollStore user, you may come across a jailbreak app based on. deb that you want to install on your non-jailbreak device.
The new deb-to-ipa-application conversion tool is available to everyone and allows you to quickly and easily convert an application based on. deb to an application based. ipa.
Change iPhone Screen Resolution Using TrollStore
Resolution Setter is a new utility to change the screen resolution for jailbroken and non-jailbroken iOS 14.0-15.4.1 devices that have the TrollStore app installed.
With it, users can choose from several different presets or enter their own preferred screen resolution and apply it on the fly. All changes are presumably safe and will be reset to factory after a reboot.
Blizzard Board TrollStore Themes
BlizzardBoard is a new TrollStore app that allows users to change their app icon themes with or without jailbreak.
The app works by applying themes in folders. zip so you can convert files. deb themes into folders. zip to use them.
TrollInstaller2 for arm64e on iOS 14.0-15.5 beta 4
TrollStore permanent signature utility developer opa334 has released an updated version of TrollInstaller in the form of TrollInstaller2 that adds support for arm64e devices running iOS and iPadOS 14.0-15.5 beta 4. This makes installing TrollStore on these devices easier than ever before.
While opa334 originally thought that support for arm64 devices was possible, that doesn’t seem to be the case anymore. The new recommended way to install TrollStore for users of older devices is to use checkra1n and TrollHelper.
TrollStore updated to version 1.2
TrollStore has been updated to version 1.2 with minor bug fixes and support for a new install method that developer opa334 calls TrollHelperOTA.
TrollHelperOTA will replace TrollHelper(2) as the main setter, making the latter obsolete.
The best jailbreak settings for hiding things
There are plenty of jailbreak tweaks that can be used to hide things from the UI in iOS 14, and iDB has put together a special list that we consider to be some of the best.
iOS 16.0.3 Released
Apple released iOS 16.0.3 on Monday with a slew of bug fixes, most of which were for the iPhone 14 line.
Obviously, would-be jailbreakers should stay away from this update as there is no jailbreak available for it.
