Shortly after Apple released iOS and iPadOS 16.1 to the public on Monday, we saw requests from /r/jailbreak users to bring the newly redesigned status bar battery indicator to jailbroken devices.
While several developers are likely working on a viable solution, at least one has already come up with a solution – a new free jailbreak tweak called BatFill.
Once installed, the battery level indicator on the status bar looks and works a lot more than it did in iOS 16.1. It is 100% full and then gradually empties from right to left as the battery drains.
One thing that makes BatFill different from iOS 16.1’s native battery level indicator is that it offers colorization options through a dedicated settings panel in the Settings app where you can add specific colors for low power, charging, and low battery mode. states. These colors are specified using hex codes, so you will need to use an online utility to find the hex code needed for the color you want.
The jailbreak community was notably the first to implement a battery percentage into the battery level indicator on notched phones, however Apple had a particular way of doing it with iOS 16.1 that jailbreakers really wanted to use on their phones. Aesthetically, it differs from the original implementation of the jailbreak community.
Unfortunately, due to the nature of the repository used to share BatFill, we cannot share the URL directly with our readers. We have confirmed that there are indeed software cracks in the repository at the time of this writing, which is against our iDB coverage policy. We just wanted our readers to know that such a product (BatFill) really exists, since the demand for such a tweak was very high. We hope the developer decides to remove all questionable content or at least publish this tweak to an established repository such as BigBoss, Chariz or Havoc.
BattFill works flawlessly on jailbroken iOS 14 devices and may also support older versions.
