GTA: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition PC System Requirements Revealed; Does gameplay footage justify minimum specs?

GTA: The Trilogy – Definitive Edition was teased a long time ago when Rockstar cryptically hinted at a potential big “surprise”for Grand Theft Auto III’s 20th anniversary. While Rockstar kept the project under wraps all along until the official announcement – a couple of days ago, the publisher finally lifted the veil and let players get their first glimpse of what’s in store for the remastered trilogy.

Gameplay footage seemed to point to full lighting and textures, as well as environmental improvements that looked pretty comprehensive. The game is slated for release on consoles as well as PC, so as expected, players have been eagerly awaiting the system requirements for the game, but they might be in for a bit of a surprise.

From the looks of it, GTA: The Trilogy – Definitive Edition may not be the cakewalk for their PC that players might have initially hoped for. Certain aspects are certainly left out of the page due to the rather significant memory requirements. The graphics department certainly seems a bit reasonable compared to the rest of the specs, but fans are concerned about whether what they’ve seen so far requires such extensive customization.

While the gameplay footage shown was certainly a leap forward in terms of how the game looked before, something is really off about games that demand as much from the PC as Red Dead Redemption 2, another Rockstar title.

The game is only a couple of weeks away, so it will be interesting if Rockstar decides to reveal more of the gameplay and give a glimpse of the advertised GTA V-style controls.
