Scorn ending explained: does it have a multiple, alternate, or secret ending

Scorn is a biopunk first-person, horror and adventure game from Ebb Software. The action of the game takes place in the deepest labyrinths of the metropolis, where the most terrible monsters, humanoids and creatures live. Because the game doesn’t follow a conventional narrative, the player is left to complete everything. Unlike most games, Scorn doesn’t even have a specific lore or plot. Unsurprisingly, the Kafkaesque and whimsical ending left several players stumped. Don’t worry, check out our guide that explains everything about the Scorn ending.

Does Contempt have a multiple, alternate, or secret ending?

The answer to this question is no! They are not in the Scorn ending. While the ending is rather bizarre and vague, players are left with a lot to interpret. Contempt has no essential knowledge or context in the world. This may cause concern for some players as nothing is explained about what is going on. But one thing is clear: his corrupted hostile world is gradually disintegrating and dying.

Disclaimer: There are some spoilers in the following guide, as well as topics that may make some readers uncomfortable, anxious, or anxious. So, proceed only if you don’t mind.

What is its story (plot explained)

Scorn features two silent humanoid protagonists. Speaking of the first humanoid, you are faced with the first puzzle in which you need to place an egg in the central chamber. This gives birth to another deformed humanoid creature. We use their hands to open the gate and find the key as we go. Then, moving into another incubation chamber, you proceed to fertilize the eggs with the help of flying pods. But when you do, a stream of white liquid erupts, causing our first protagonist to pass out.

Now you switch to the second main character. When a humanoid awakens from an egg, it is surrounded by tons of humanoid corpses. This means that most of the life in its environment has died out. When the second protagonist reaches the Alien’s structure, the lizard-like creature pounces and attaches itself to it. Since this lizard has alien weapons and white liquid as our first protagonist, it is definitely a mutated version of our first protagonist. This makes sense since most humanoids don’t experience such events compared to our first hero.

Gradually, the mutated lizard becomes a parasite and preys on newly born humanoids. As you progress, you will encounter several hostile creatures and puzzles for you to solve. When the parasite is merged, it eventually takes full control of the humanoid later in the game. Your hands become the key and the weapon to survive and adapt to any situation. But this leads to another tricky situation, as you cannot unlock the upper levels of the Temple to separate yourself. Going further, you will come across a contraception that will allow you to separate it. But the parasite does not die and runs away.

The second protagonist then reaches the upper level, where he sees two pregnant women besides the locked throne room. As the second protagonist straps himself into a medical device in hopes of fixing himself, the mechanical doctor injures him. This doctor cuts open the stomach and head, attaching their brains to the mind of the hive. This leads to the awakening of two pregnant people. You switch between them to solve Skorn’s final riddle and open the throne room. Suddenly, one of the pregnant people pushes the other away and picks up the second protagonist. But when he carries it to the throne room, he also continuously cuts it with the blade.

After passing through the doorway, you will see the Void of Light. The whole distorted status of humanoids directs us to the path of light. But there is a twist. Although it looks like the end of this damn world, the parasite (1st protagonist) is back. The parasite merges again with the protagonist devouring a pregnant woman. This terrible fusion results in a pound of flesh. As the two humanoids constantly fuse together, they are forever trapped in the world of the Scorn for eternity.

Scorn ending and explanation of topics

Over time, several themes emerged in Scorn, such as death, rebirth, procreation, pregnancy, and more. In my opinion, this is a society where women have died out. With a fondness for biomechanical equipment and egg-shaped pods, his world is certainly populated by males. And let’s start with the fact that there are no female characters in Scorn. In a broader aspect, all progress can also be the blueprint for the HIVE network. As soon as you get to the throne room, the Biomechanic Doctor will toss you away like waste.

When the second protagonist dies, he wakes up as two pregnant people. For me, it was like a constant disintegration and transformation into rebirth. And also the fact that most humanoids don’t live long enough to survive, except for a few. But, in the end, the players must interpret everything in their own way. In some bizarre way, “Contempt”was very similar to David Lynch’s classic Eraserhead.

Pretty Kafkaesque! But the whole meaning seemed very dark and filled with absurdity. For example, the reality of the world in which we live. Makes you think we’re not just a speck to talk about? (sorry for the philosophizing)

That’s it for the Scorn ending.
