Ray-Ban Stories Facebook glasses arrive in France with new software.
Starting today, Ray-Ban Stories Facebook glasses are available in Spain, Austria and Belgium. They will also be offered in France from 14 April. And in addition to expanding their global reach, Facebook is introducing new features to its connected glasses, including the ability to shoot up to 60 seconds. This doubles the current 30 second limit with two 5MP cameras located on the front of the case.

It turns out that the video quality offered by these glasses is surprisingly good and even very stable in use. An LED lights up to let users know you’re recording, but the fact that it’s easier to start a video recording with glasses than with a phone logically raises some privacy concerns. In any case, the 60-second recordings are expected to arrive with a software update that will be released in early April.

To properly manage this commercial glasses extension, Facebook View will now be available in French, Spanish, Dutch and German. Like the dedicated Stories app, View lets you edit and retouch photos and videos, and post them directly to social networking sites. Facebook also allows its glasses to understand voice commands in French and Italian, allowing you to take photos and start video recording hands-free. And yes, the device can now also offer sound notifications, such as low battery or memory full alerts, in these different languages.
Finally, in early April, Facebook and Ray-Ban owner Luxottica will introduce four new colors and lens combinations for its Stories, bringing the total number of variations to 28. These smart glasses will be available across markets on the above dates, April 14th. Thus, France from 299/329 euros.
