Over the past year, the launch strategy of OnePlus, the smartphone maker, has changed for several reasons. While OnePlus usually releases two flagships in the first half of the year under the numbered series and one in the second half of the year under the R series, this year was very different.
First, the brand released OnePlus 10 Pro, and then two Nord series devices – Nord CE 2 and Nord CE 2 Lite. In addition, the company also launched the OnePlus 10R. While it all happened in India, the company has also launched a new Nord N and Nord 2T series phone in global markets – all in just five months in 2022. Now, a new leak suggests that OnePlus will only launch one flagship smartphone in 2022 and it will be called the OnePlus 10T 5G. Let’s look at the details.
OnePlus 10T 5G will be rumored to be OnePlus 10 Ultra and OnePlus 10
According to popular tweeter Max Jambore, the company’s next flagship will be called the OnePlus 10T 5G, and in Q &A, he also confirmed that the device is also the rumored vanilla OnePlus 10 as well as OnePlus. 10 Ultra, which has been in the news for a long time. Judging by his tweets, it’s safe to say that the OnePlus 10T will be the rumored OnePlus 10 Ultra and OnePlus 10. This also means the company won’t be releasing a non-professional flagship phone at that point in its history (under number series).
Final name of the next and only flagship phone coming this year: OnePlus 10T 5G
If the leak turns out to be true, the OnePlus 10T will be the first T series device since the OnePlus 8T as OnePlus switched to the R series with the 9 series. Since OnePlus has already confirmed it is working on a Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 phone, it’s safe to assume that the OnePlus 10T will run on a Qualcomm chipset. The OnePlus 10 Ultra leaks also point to a secure chipset. However, the early leak also suggests that the company may launch a flagship phone with the MediaTek Dimensity 9000 SoC in select markets.
The OnePlus 10 Ultra was expected to feature a 6.7-inch Full HD+ AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate. It was speculated to come with a 50MP main camera, a 16MP ultra-wide-angle camera, a 2MP macro camera, and a 32MP selfie camera. We can now expect these specs from the upcoming OnePlus 10T 5G along with 150W fast charging capability. As has always been the case in the past, the OnePlus 10T may be limited to some markets, but there is no confirmation of this yet.
