OnePlus Buds Z2 is now official, OnePlus’ latest true wireless earbuds have just been unveiled in China along with the new flagship phone, the OnePlus 9RT. Ahead of the launch, OnePlus has already confirmed seven major upgrades that the Buds Z2 will receive over the last generation TWS. Key features of the OnePlus Buds Z2 include active noise cancellation, up to 38 hours of battery life, and a 94ms low latency mode. The recently launched budget TWS borrows many features from the OnePlus Buds Pro, which currently costs $135.
OnePlus Buds Z2: specifications and features
The OnePlus Buds Z2, like its predecessor, is a pair of budget true wireless earbuds with an in-ear style design and stem. In terms of body design, it is very similar to the OnePlus Buds Z. It uses an 11mm moving coil driver, as well as Bluetooth 5.2 connectivity with support for AAC/SBC codecs.
Active noise cancellation is one of the biggest additions to the OnePlus Buds Z2. The kidneys will offer noise reduction up to 40dB. Apart from ANC, there is also a transparency mode that allows you to be aware of your surroundings while listening to music. The headphones come with three microphones for calls. The kidneys are also IP55 rated. In terms of controls, you get multiple touch features such as single click, double click, triple click, and long press.
In terms of battery life, it will offer 7 hours of battery life on a single charge with the earbuds, and up to 31 hours with the case that houses the 520mAh battery, bringing the total to 38 hours. A quick 10-minute charge will provide up to 5 hours of music playback, and a full charge will take 90 minutes. For charging, you get a USB Type-C port on the back of the case. There is also a low latency mode that reduces latency to 94ms and Dolby Atmos on select OnePlus devices.

The OnePlus Buds Z2 is priced at 499 Yuan in China. The Buds Z2 is available in two color options – Day White and Night Black.
