Opera launches beta version of its VPN Pro service on Android

Opera is launching a VPN Pro beta offer to secure your Android smartphone at a lower price.

In recent years, VPNs have become extremely popular services, largely taking advantage of the desire of Internet users to protect their privacy from prying eyes and ears, be it governments or tech giants. There are dozens of VPN services on the market today, some more complete than others, more or less expensive. Today, Opera is making headlines with its VPN Pro offering.

Opera launches VPN Pro beta offer

Opera has been offering a free VPN in its Android browser for a long time, but today it thinks some users might want to pay to take it one step further. The company of the same name has launched a beta version of the VPN Pro service for Android, which, for a fee, is designed to secure your connections on the device. It’s very similar to any other paid VPN service, but Opera promises a number of great benefits.

You can subscribe through a browser and an existing Opera account. That is, you do not need to download a separate application if you are already using the free option. Opera also doesn’t keep logs that could be used to track your activity. It’s still too early to tell if the company will deliver on its “high-speed servers”promise, but you can combine Opera’s data-saving mode with VPN Pro to ensure you don’t exceed your data limits, if at all.

VPN Pro Beta is now available for users with Android 6.0 or later and Opera for Android Beta 68.2. The price, meanwhile, is very interesting. Early subscribers can get it for as little as $2 on a 3-month subscription, or $3/month. The option offered by Opera won’t be enough if you need a VPN service for all your devices, but it might be enough if you want to secure your smartphone or just take advantage of your streaming service directories from other countries.
