In Splatoon 3, every gear you use has a basic ability, but many players want to change it. You may want to replace it with another ability that better complements your other mecha abilities and your play style. Fortunately, the process of changing it is not that complicated. So, in this guide, let’s see how to change the basic ability of your gear in Splatoon 3.
How to change the main ability in Splatoon 3
You can change the primary ability of your gear with NPC Murch.
- Talk to March.
- Select Add abilities.
- Next, you get three options to choose from below.
- Headdress
- Cloth
- Shoes
- Select the gear category that your gear is in.
- Then select the actual equipment for which you want to change the primary ability.
- After you click on it, click on the big circle that represents your gear’s primary ability.
- Then, from the main abilities on the left side of the screen, select the new ability that you want to use for your equipment.
- Finally, March will ask you, “Do you look good?”to confirm if you want to change your primary ability.
- Click “Make!”.
- After you confirm, March will change the primary ability of your gear.
Remember that you will need 45 fragments of the ability you want to transfer to. I suggest you check out our guide to farming ability chunks to learn more about it. The good thing is that you can even change the abilities of the equipment you got from your Amiibos.
