Outer Wilds will soon be getting a special update for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S. This will be available on September 15 and will be free for anyone who already owns the game on PS4 or Xbox One. Outer Wilds is an open-world exploration game where you explore strange planets and uncover the secrets of an endless time loop that has engulfed the solar system. Released in 2019 on console and PC, it was the first title from Mobius Digital to win a number of prestigious awards, including Best Game at the BAFTA Games Awards 2020.

The update for PS5 and the native Xbox Series will allow players to (re-)discover the game at 60 frames per second. Outer Wilds: Echoes of the Eye, a very important and equally beautiful DLC for the game, will also be eligible for its own update. Moreover, it will be included in this new version.
In the meantime, the Nintendo Switch version should come after this PS5 and Xbox Series version. It was originally supposed to be offered this summer, but the studio was unable to meet the deadline. Mobius Digital made these various announcements during the Annapurna Interactive presentation.
