As mentioned earlier, Competitive Points (CP) are the rewards the game gives you for playing Overwatch 2 Competitive Mode. As such, the only way to earn them is from here, and unranked matches won’t count. But it’s not as easy as just playing competitive matches, you also need to win matches to get the most points. While winning matches gives you the most points, you still earn points for finishing a match in a draw. But where you don’t get any points, that’s for losing. Here are the points you get in each scenario:

  • Won a match: 15 CP
  • Draw: 5 CP
  • Lost match: 0 CP

This is how you get CP in every match though. There are other ways to get CP and that is to increase your rank. Each rank in Overwatch 2 will give you a certain amount of CP at the end of the season. And to further get more points, these ranks are divided into queues called Open Queue and Role Queue. Here are all the ranks in the game and the CP you get from them:

  • Grandmaster: 1750 CP
  • Master: 1200 CP
  • Diamond: 750 CP
  • Platinum: 500 CP
  • Gold: 250 CP
  • Silver: 125 SR
  • Bronze: 65 OK
