Those who played OW1 and unlocked some or all of the heroes now see them all locked in Overwatch 2. This can be annoying, especially if you play these characters or prefer to play them. Because of this, the game will no longer be as fun as it used to be – especially for returning players, which can be a nightmare for Blizzard. That’s not all – many skins are also missing. Why are heroes missing or locked in Overwatch 2?
If you’ve already unlocked all the heroes in OW1 and now see them locked, don’t worry. You have not lost any items or progress. The issue occurs because the new First User Experience (FTUE) stream is not properly applied to existing players. That’s why you see heroes locked down, as are new players.
How to fix the locked heroes issue for existing players in OW 2?
Log out of the game and log back in to resolve this issue, which is reported to work for most players. But if that doesn’t work for you, contact Blizzard Support and submit a ticket. The development team will look into this and check the issue for you. Be sure to fill in all the details required for the team.
Also, confirm if you have already merged your accounts so that the item can be transferred. So, until the developers release a fix, there’s nothing we can do as players.
