Studio Night School has decided to postpone the release of Oxenfree II: Lost Signals. The developers have announced that the 2016 sequel to Oxenfree will not be released until next year at the earliest. “In order to make Oxenfree II truly special and offer more localizations, we have moved the launch window to 2023,” the studio tweeted. This postponement announcement came right after Netflix announced that subscribers could download the original game for free.

The streaming giant acquired Night School Studio in 2021. Given Netflix’s global audience, it makes sense to take the time to localize the game into more languages. By the way, the new “Netflix Edition”has support for subtitles in more than 30 languages. Oxenfree II: Lost Signals will be available on Steam, PlayStation 4, PS5 and Nintendo Switch next year.
