The Samsung Galaxy S23 series is expected to launch next year. The Korean giant is expected to release the Galaxy 23 Ultra, Galaxy S23+ and Galaxy S23 in early 2023 as a successor to the Galaxy S22 series. Samsung’s S-series devices offer some of the best cameras, especially in terms of rear optics. However, the selfie cameras on the S-series devices have remained 10MP since the Galaxy S10 (excluding Ultra models). Now this will change.
According to a Galaxyclub report, Samsung is gearing up to significantly upgrade the Galaxy S23’s front-facing camera. The Galaxy S22+ and S22 currently offer 10MP selfie cameras, while the S22 Ultra offers a 40MP selfie camera.
Samsung Galaxy S23 could get a better selfie camera
It’s not clear at this point if the selfie camera will be housed inside the notch, or if it’ll be hidden inside the display, as we saw on the Galaxy Fold 3. The device may or may not come with OIS support – it’s not yet clear. Also, it’s unclear at this point if the Galaxy S23 Ultra will receive an upgrade over the Galaxy S22 Ultra’s 40-megapixel sensor.
There are at least seven to eight months left before the release of the Samsung Galaxy S23 series, which means that we should learn more about the new update and the specifications of the phone in the coming days.
