Next week, Apple will introduce new high-performance products.
Tech giant Apple’s first event of 2022 will take place on March 8 at 7:00 pm at the Steve Jobs Theater on the Apple Park campus in Cupertino, California. As with last year’s events, this will continue to be collected digitally only and no member of the media will be invited to participate in person due to the health crisis that is still shaking the world.
At Peek Performance, Apple is expected to announce the next generation iPhone SE version, an updated iPad Air, and at least one Mac with an Apple silicon chip, which could be a Mac mini, a 13-inch MacBook Pro, or both. (earbuds or headphones) or a new Apple Watch.
Return of the iPhone SE
The third generation iPhone SE will be similar to the second generation model currently available, and no design changes are expected. It will still have thick bezels and a Touch ID home button, as well as an upgraded A-series chip, likely the A15, and faster 5G connectivity. Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo said it will be the most affordable 5G iPhone yet. Apple won’t change the design of the next generation iPad Air either, but it will also get a faster chip and 5G connectivity. It can also be complemented by a new FaceTime camera that supports Center Stage, a feature that keeps you in the frame even as you move around the room.
New to Mac computers?
As for the Mac, Apple is rumored to be releasing a high-end version of the Mac mini with a redesigned design and M1 Pro and M1 Max chips. The new Mac mini will replace the current Mac mini Intel options and will be showcased during Peek Performance. The latest device is rumored to be an upgraded version of the 13-inch MacBook Pro, which is said to feature the M2 chip, the successor to the M1 chip.
The MacBook Pro will look identical to the current 13-inch model and will be a smaller version of the 14- and 16-inch MacBook Pro models with the M1 Pro and M1 Max chips. The M2 chip will feature the same 8-core CPU as the M1, but speed and efficiency improvements are expected, as well as GPU improvements. Rumors suggest that the M2 chip will ship with 9- and 10-core GPUs, compared to the 7- and 8-core processors of the original M1 chip.
