Disney is ordering a Percy Jackson & the Olympians television series and is announcing that production will begin this summer.
The American writer Rick Riordan, the author of novels about Percy Jackson, has never hidden that he does not approve of the film adaptation of his works and even wants to correct this for the benefit of himself, but also for the fans. After lengthy negotiations with Disney representatives, a television series called Percy Jackson & the Olympians is gearing up for the big-eared firm’s streaming platform. He will write the pilot with John Steinberg (Black Sails, The Old Man) knowing that James Bobin (The Secret Society of Benedict, Dora and the Lost City of Gold) will direct. Jon Steinberg will also oversee the project along with his producing partner Dan Shotz. The latter will also executive produce alongside James Bobin, Rick Riordan, Rebecca Riordan, Bert Salke, Monica Owusu-Bryn, Jim Rowe, and Ellen Goldsmith-Wein.

Percy must then cross the Americas to find him and restore order to Olympus.
