Ubisoft is completely overlooking their first NFTs. Players do not respond (yet) are present.
Ubisoft recently announced its intention to bring NFT into its games, with Ghost Recon Breakpoint being the studio’s first game to take advantage of this. The idea behind this project was that these NFTs would be skins and other cosmetic items. That being said, it looks like Ubisoft’s first NFT experience is a big flop.
Ubisoft totally misses the mark with its first NFTs
At least that’s what Liz Edwards, Respawn Entertainment’s Apex Legends character modeler, has revealed that only 15 NFTs have been sold on the platforms Ubisoft sells its NFTs on (at the time of this writing). Considering there are over 15 players in the game, it can be concluded that players are really not ready to buy NFTs, or not yet, at least when it comes to Ubisoft.
Players not responding (yet) present
Eurogamer went further in their analysis and estimated the value of these NFTs at around 445.49 Tezos, which is around $1,755.30 in fiat currency terms. It may take some time for Ubisoft to accept this new project and gain popularity. After all, some people are willing to spend $650,000 on an NTF yacht, so maybe gamers are just unhappy with Ubisoft’s implementation.
Recently, NFTs have become increasingly popular, with some of them selling for hundreds of thousands of dollars. With NFT, you can do anything and everything. Perhaps this is why Ubisoft is so interested in this technology and wants to implement it in their games, but for now, players need to be convinced. In any case, this first attempt ended in failure. To be continued!
