Netflix presents the first teaser trailer for its series Resident Evil, a chance to discover the overall horror vibe with a dose of action.
Resident Evil is coming to Netflix this summer. Today, the first teaser shows us what to expect. An opportunity for the streaming giant to stage things, so to speak. The story will take place in two timelines and two locations, namely New Raccoon City, which looks untouched today, and a completely destroyed version of London in 2036.
Netflix has released the first trailer for the Resident Evil series.
In 2022, we follow Albert Wesker – Lance Reddick as he brings his daughters Jade and Bille to New Raccoon City. Albert works for the Umbrella Corporation, which unleashes the devastating T-virus on humanity. We are moving forward 14 years later to find Jade, one of the last 15 million people still living on Earth. The latter tries to survive the zombie apocalypse by delving into the dark secrets of her family.
An opportunity to discover the overall atmosphere, horror with a dose of action
The series will be based on the history of Resident Evil video games, but will contain an original plot. Either way, the teaser makes it clear that the series will be mostly horror-focused, with a good dose of action here and there. There are also very clear video game footprints, such as the quick image of a zombie dog at the end of this teaser.
Netflix’s Resident Evil series follows the animated series Resident Evil: Infinite Darkness, which hit the platform last year. The first season of eight episodes is expected on July 14. This should appeal to fans of the cult license and will allow you to discover this very rich saga.
