Hong Kong, Taiwan, Singapore, Indonesia, Malaysia, South Korea and Thailand welcome the new PlayStation Plus.
Veronica Rogers, Senior Vice President of Global Sales and Business Operations at Sony Interactive Entertainment, notes the launch of the new PlaySation Plus in select Asian markets: “It’s hard to believe it’s been almost 12 years since we introduced PlayStation Plus to the world. Wipeout HD was one of the first games offered to subscribers. The service has evolved over the years and offers over 1,000 games to subscribers from all over the world.
We regularly improve our offer to provide an attractive product to approximately 47 million subscribers. Eight years ago, we launched the PlayStation Now open beta. It has since grown into a full-fledged service with over three million users in some markets. In the future, we are taking our services to the next level. I’m excited to join our PlayStation Asia community and warmly welcome the new three-tiered PlayStation Plus offering.”
Starting today, the new PlayStation Plus becomes available to players in Asia (launching in Japan in near future).

She reiterates that Japan will follow next week, followed by the Americas, Europe, Australia and New Zealand next month: “We are very excited to start bringing our impressive game catalog to PlayStation gamers around the world. Our priority is to offer exceptional games. Therefore, we are excited to be able to offer several popular games to Extra and Premium subscribers as soon as they are released. We will also offer some classic models of our machines. As you’ll see, these iconic games look great on PS5 and PS4.
Our game catalog will be updated regularly with great games and I hope everyone can browse through it. We have come an incredible journey to get where we are today and I am very proud of all the SIE teams who have done a titanic job of transforming our service offerings and offering better value for money and more flexibility for our clients. Our teams knew how to involve the players in the decision making to keep our signing strong. A big thank you to the PlayStation community for joining us on this journey and for the new era of online subscription gaming services that we are ushering in. I am very proud of all the SIE teams who have done a titanic job to transform our service offerings and offer the best value for money,
