A supposed homage to the greatest martial arts films and Chinese culture, Sifu will offer a collection of kung fu action, high-octane action and revenge.
The new license from Sloclap is a third-person action game that follows the adventures of a young kung fu student in search of revenge, on his hunt for those who killed his family. One against all, no one can help him, and he has many enemies. He will have to rely on his unique kung fu prowess as well as a mysterious pendant to overcome obstacles and keep his legacy alive:
“Hunting enemies will lead you to the secret corners of the city. From the suburbs devastated by gangs to the strict corridors of the towers of the big capital. In one day you will have to face countless enemies. And time will pay for every mistake. If you want to survive, you better position yourself and use the environment wisely. Take advantage of available resources such as throwables, makeshift weapons, windows, ledges…
We don’t give much of your skin, and your opponents won’t give you anything as a gift. To master the art of kung fu, hone your body and mind. Learn from your mistakes, unlock exclusive skills and focus on dominating Pak Mei’s devastating kung fu moves. ”
Shifu offers himself a live short film for his publicity.
Independent French studio Sloclap teamed up with director Christopher Clarke Cowan (one of the action designers for Kingsman and Shang-Chi) to direct Sifu in a short film shot in Los Angeles. The protagonist tracks down Fajar, one of the assassins who killed his father.
Sifu will be available on February 8th on PS5, PS4 and PC (Epic Games Store) digitally and on May 3rd physically on PlayStation consoles. It’s called the Vengeance Edition and will include an exclusive SteelBook, an artbook, a dematerialized soundtrack, and three lithographs.
