Oura introduces Oura Ring Gen3 connected ring. It is equipped with a pulse oximeter.
The wearables market, especially health wearables, has changed a lot in recent years. In addition to the already classic connected watch, you can choose a connected ring to monitor a certain number of permanent health indicators daily. This is what Oura allows, specifically with the Oura ring. Here is today the third generation, Oura Ring Gen3.
Oura Introduces Oura Ring Gen3 Connected Ring
Oura ring is a small wearable electronic device. The latest version, Oura Ring Gen3, offers a number of new features, including a pulse oximeter that allows the wearer to assess hemoglobin oxygen saturation (SpO2).
The manufacturer explains that the reading is split into two data: “average blood oxygen saturation and breathing regularity during sleep,” which should allow you to monitor the quality of your sleep.
Typically SpO2 should be between 95 and 100%. A lower level may be a sign of importance to tell your doctor for further testing. Possible causes of low saturation include heart or lung problems.

Please note, however, that these electronic devices are not medical devices and should not be used to make any kind of diagnosis. Manufacturers are reminding their customers that despite great progress, medical technology cannot yet be implemented in such small devices and at consumer prices.
Oura Ring Gen3 sleep and heart rate tracking is great for those who want to keep an eye on their overall health and wellness. With such a device, if you realize that your sleep is not good, you can take steps to improve it, with simple actions such as reducing ambient noise or affecting lighting, sleeping regularly for more hours, etc.
At €300, the Oura Ring Gen3 isn’t cheap, but it’s a good alternative for people who don’t like to wear a watch or a bracelet. It is available in three glossy colors: silver, black and gold, and matte black.
