The upcoming season of Apex Legends, Saviors, will feature a brand new Legend, Newcastle, and may already have strong ties to a certain Legend in the Apex Games. The new Saviors launch trailer showcases all sorts of new content, including changes to Storm Point as well as the addition of new giant creatures to the map.
The highlight, of course, is the introduction of Newcastle, a new legend curiously associated with Bangalore. In the launch trailer, the idea that Newcastle might actually be Bangalore’s brother slips away, adding spice to Apex Legends’ storytelling.
Newcastle’s abilities seem to favor a defensive approach, as the character can presumably deploy a mobile shield and drag downed teammates into cover.

Apex Legends Saviors releases May 10, 2022
With each new season of Apex Legends, the game continues to fill up with new legends, and Newcastle could be a crowd favorite given his defensive skills. The game currently seems to lack a defense department and is usually dominated by Gibraltar, Caustic, and occasionally Lifeline.
Newcastle’s abilities and kits may have been exposed in a massive leak earlier this year. Legends’ abilities seem to revolve around his mobile shield and could prove to be a worthy opponent for Gibraltar. The character can deploy a mobile shield as their tactical ability and hit with a massive shield wall as their ultimate ability.
It will be interesting to see how Newcastle fit into the meta and if they can hold their own against other defensive legends in the game.
Other notable changes aimed at Apex Legends include the monstrous Storm Point facelift. The Downed Beast will be added to the map, which units will likely be able to engage in battles for loot and treasure. The new Season 13 Battle Pass will also be available on May 10th.
