In the previous parts of this game, you had to visit kindergartens in order to breed Pokémon. However, in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, you can get eggs and breed Pokemon using the new Picnic system. Many players found this method easier and faster. Let’s take a look at the steps to breeding.
How to breed Pokemon
First, you need two Pokémon (male and female) or a Pokémon and Ditto in the same group of eggs. Then, to breed Pokémon, you need to set up a picnic by finding a flat surface, going to the main menu, and selecting picnic. That’s all. Now you can wait idly and check the picnic basket frequently. There is a chance that Pokémon will breed Drop Eggs there. You can also breed multiple Pokémon at the same time by leaving Ditto in an Egg Group with up to five other Pokémon.
Get eggs by making sandwiches
Sometimes you won’t get a single egg on a picnic. But you can increase your chances of getting eggs by making Sandwiches. In recipes, look out for the Food Power called Egg Power. You can get the ingredients for these recipes from the grocery stores in Mesagos. The Egg Power level determines how quickly you will get eggs in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet. Sandwiches like the Big Peanut Butter Sandwich and Dessert Sandwich have the power of an egg.
The process of incubation of eggs is similar to the previous parts. You have to walk a certain distance for the eggs to hatch. You can also add a Fire Friend Pokémon to your party to hatch the Egg faster.
