Samsung has silently released the Galaxy M13 budget phone. The company announced the successor to the Samsung Galaxy M12 without much fanfare. The phone is currently listed on the official Samsung mobile press website, which confirms all the specs of the device, as well as a few images. While there has been a lot of news surrounding the Galaxy M13 5G, the 4G version has now been announced.
The Samsung Galaxy M13 is powered by Samsung’s own Exynos SoC and has 4GB of RAM. In terms of camera, the device offers a triple rear camera setup and a front selfie camera that sits inside the Infinity-V notch. The phone also comes with a large battery, but it lacks ultra-fast charging. Let’s take a closer look at the new Samsung Galaxy M13.
Samsung Galaxy M13: specifications and features
The Galaxy M13 comes with a 6.6-inch screen and Full HD+ resolution. It also has a cutout for the Infinity-V display. The site does not show the screen refresh rate of the device. By comparison, the Galaxy M12 launched with a 90Hz display but had an HD+ screen resolution. The Galaxy M13’s display may be a 60Hz LCD. The device comes with a side-mounted fingerprint scanner.
Under the hood of the smartphone is an eight-core Exynos 850 processor with a clock speed of up to 2 GHz. The device is paired with a Mali-G52 MP1 GPU. The phone comes with two storage options, 64GB and 128GB, and both options offer 4GB of RAM. In addition, the device also supports microSD memory cards up to 1TB. The phone packs a 5,000mAh battery and is said to support 15W charging via a Type-C port.
Moving on to the camera department, the Galaxy M13 comes with a triple rear camera setup led by a 50MP main sensor with f/1.8 aperture, a 5MP ultra wide-angle lens with f/2.2 aperture, and a 2MP depth sensor with f/2 4. There is also a LED flash. On the front, the phone has an 8-megapixel selfie camera with f/2.2 aperture and fixed focus.
In terms of software, the device runs on Android 12 based on the One UI Core 4.1 skin. The phone measures 76.9 x 165.4 x 8.4 mm and weighs 192 grams. Other features include Samsung Knox for added security, LTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac (2.4G+5GHz) and Bluetooth 5.0. Pricing for the Galaxy M13 has yet to be announced, as has the availability of the device. We can expect the device to be launched in India as well.
