If smartphones with folding screens are still looking for themselves and have not really found their audience, several manufacturers are already working in this market, and many others are working on one or more devices of this type. Among them, how not to mention the Chinese Huawei? Today, the giant is introducing a very promising new model – Huawei P50 Pocket.

Huawei is no stranger when it comes to smartphones with folding screens. Over the past years, the brand has already released three different models: Mate X, Mate Xs and Mate X2, the latest of which was released in February. These three smartphones are very similar to the Samsung Galaxy Fold in that they fold vertically and are about the size of a small tablet when unfolded. Recently, however, Huawei has started introducing a smartphone with a different foldable display, more similar to the Samsung Galaxy Flip. Today, a clearly “fashionable”shot published in Harper’s Bazaar China shows what this device looks like.

New folding screen smartphone for Chinese brand

Dubbed the Huawei P50 Pocket, the model features prominently in photos with Chinese actress and singer Guan Xiaotong. The smartphone seems to be quite large if we look at the photos posted on Weibo, with a circular outer screen that can show the time, notifications, and a preview of what you’re capturing with the camera if the phone is folded. This external P50 Pocket screen is located right next to the photo module, in addition, according to the Chinese Engadget, the fingerprint reader is integrated into the edges of the device. The version pictured in Harper’s Bazaar is gold with a pattern that can resemble leaves, but Huawei’s teaser also shows a silver variant with a diamond pattern. In other words, there may be different, but very “stylish”options.

Huawei will formalize its P50 Pocket on December 23rd. To be continued!
