Upcoming Apple Products 2023: The Complete Guide

It’s always an exciting time for Apple fans when the company teases new products. Apple has a penchant for teasing fans with new technological innovations ranging from the latest iPhone to possible new categories. It’s also the reason why listing future Apple products in 2023 can be quite difficult. Having said that, let’s take a look at some of Apple’s most anticipated devices!

1. 15″MacBook Air

Earlier this year, Apple released the 13.6-inch MacBook Air M2. This new version of the popular MacBook features a new design and is powered by the latest M2 chipset. While the dust is still settling around this new MacBook Air, it looks like Apple is set to launch a 15-inch MacBook Air in the spring of 2023. This is the first case for the MacBook Air as it was never released with a 15-inch screen.

What’s more, this new MacBook Air will likely include a healthy upgrade over the first higher-clocked M2 chip. The chances of this MacBook Air being released are very significant, as it has been reported that Apple wants to expand consumer choice in the laptop segment. However, no one is sure yet whether this MacBook Air will be able to replace the 13-inch MacBook Air. Either way, the price of this laptop can be very high, starting at $1,799.

2. iPhone 15

With each new year, the excitement around the new iPhone is growing exponentially. In 2022, Apple introduced some great changes to its 14 Pro line of phones, the base iPhone 14 model received little to no updates. Of course, the processor and camera system are slightly better than their predecessors. However, it still lacked the game-changing Dynamic Island and the A16 Bionic chipset.

All this seems to change with the release of the new iPhone 15 line. The likelihood that Dynamic Island and the A16 processor will remain in the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus is very high. In addition, negotiations are underway for a new A17 processor for the 15 Pro line. A new design, a new processor, Periscope Lens technology and more may appear in the new iPhone lineup.

However, rumors about the iPhone 15 Ultra have also intensified. Since Apple introduced the Apple Watch Ultra, there are rumors that Apple will expand its line of phones to the iPhone 15 Ultra. If this is true, and the new iPhone model is indeed released, expect it to cost significantly more than the Pro Max models.

3. Reality Pro Headset

Apple could expand its products into a new category with a mixed reality headset called Reality Pro. If this product comes out in 2023, it will cost between $2,000 and $3,000. There are good reasons for such an exorbitant price. The Reality Pro headset should be the most advanced headset of its kind.

The Reality Pro headset will not only have an M2 chip (the same one that is inside the Mac), but more than 10 cameras both inside and outside the headset. In addition, the high-resolution displays on the headset will be best in class. Like any other Apple device, the headset will have its own operating system, dubbed realityOS.

With this device, Apple may want to create a virtual world similar to the Metaverse. However, little is known about the device yet.

4. HomePod with screen

Of select product lines, Apple’s HomePod remains something of a setback. While HomePod is great for fans of the ecosystem, it still can’t beat Amazon Alexa. For more advanced users, a speaker that combines artificial intelligence and a screen can be far more useful in the long run. An example is the success of the Amazon Alexa Show, which has performed remarkably well.

In this regard, there is a good chance that Apple may reinvent the wheel with its next HomePod. Rumor has it that the next HomePod could have a screen and Apple TV integration. This will allow users to expand their horizons in terms of HomePod usage. For now, it looks like Apple will introduce two types of HomePods – HomePod TV (integrates with Apple TV) and the HomePod show, which will be similar to the Amazon counterpart.

Whether it happens or not, one thing is clear – Apple will have to make major changes to change the narrative of the HomePod product line. To do this, they will have to do something radically different.

5. MacBook Pro

Talk of a new MacBook Pro is ubiquitous in the Apple community. Being at a higher level, the new MacBook Pro may have updated chipsets from Apple. This update can apply to both 14″and 16″models. I doubt it will have any design changes as Apple is usually pretty strict about design changes. However, there is no doubt that we will see performance and battery life upgrades.

According to sources and industry insiders, the new MacBook Pro will go on sale in March 2023. However, consumers will have to be wary of significant price increases for this new set of laptops.

6. Mac Mini

When the MacBook Air and MacBook Pro with M1 chips were released nearly two years ago, so was the Mac Mini. Although the new MacBooks were released with M2 chipsets, the Mac Mini was nowhere to be seen. However, it looks like something better is on the way, with two new Mac Mini models on the horizon. It is reported that both models will be equipped with the M2 chipset.

With Apple taking longer to release the updated Mac Mini, there’s a good chance a redesigned version is on the way. Newer models may have a plexiglass top and a smaller chassis. Plus, you can expect the new Mac Mini to have up to 24GB of unified storage.

Surprisingly, most of the rumors don’t list a release date (other than 2023). While the previous Mac Mini was released in November, the best guess we can make about the new Mac Mini’s release date is the second half of 2023!

7. iMac with M3

While the iMac didn’t last long, thanks to the arrival of Mac Studio, people are still hoping for a new iMac. There’s even some news from industry insiders that Apple is working on a new iMac with the M3 chipset. However, we’re not sure if this will be a continuation of the 24-inch iMac or a new model altogether.

In any discussion of the iMac with the M3, the conversation, of course, will also be directed towards the M3. However, Apple is currently busy strengthening its position with models such as the M2, M2 Pro, and even the M1 Ultra. If the M3 chip is being worked on, you can be sure that it will have a 3nm architecture. Moreover, M3 chips can be available in three flavors – Ibiza, Palma and Lobos.

If we see an M3 chip, it will be the first in the MacBook lineup. Only then could it be added to the new iMac.

8. Apple Silicon Mac Pro

Considering the leaps Apple has made with its M-series chipsets, the currently available Mac Pro looks pretty dated. This is mainly due to the fact that the Mac Pro still uses an Intel chipset. So we are guaranteed to see a new Mac Pro with an M2 or M3 chipset. However, developing a line of desktop computers is much more difficult than a MacBook. Expect a bit of a delay with the arrival of the new Mac Pro.

It’s also highly likely that despite the gap in releases, Apple won’t be redesigning the Mac Pro. Instead, they will focus on refining the internals to provide a powerful and smooth user experience. As these desktops compete with Intel workstations, the new Mac Pro is rumored to feature the M2 Ultra or M2 Extreme chipset.

Be that as it may, the new Mac Pro seems to break all records in terms of features and price!

9. 14-inch iPad Pro

It hasn’t been long since Apple released the new iPad Pro with the M2 chipset and ProRes video recording capabilities. However, these features are available on the proven 12.9-inch display. Rumor has it that Apple is testing 14-inch iPad Pros at its facilities. The main purpose of this increase in display size is to blur the line between using a tablet and a laptop.

However, there are some problems with this idea. First, Apple frequently changes its existing products to see if these minor changes help the user experience. Most often they do not materialize in a commercial sense. Secondly, the 12.9-inch iPad Pro is already quite expensive. A big screen can hit the budget so hard that most people won’t care. Third, smaller versions of the iPad continue to be successful.

With all these factors that Apple has to consider, the 14-inch iPad Pro may not see the light of day. At least not in the near future. If we see an iPad Pro with a bigger screen, expect the product to be ultra-premium.

Final Thoughts

That concludes our list of upcoming Apple products in 2023. Please be aware that most of these products are based on rumors from industry insiders and have not been confirmed by Apple in an official statement. However, this is an exciting group of products and I think we as consumers would love to see them materialize!
