The Amazon IMDb TV app is coming to PS5. As they say, better late than never.
When it comes to free video streaming services, there are quite a few options out there today. For example, you don’t have to pay a subscription to a service like Netflix. One such free service is Amazon’s IMDb TV. Good news: if you have a Sony PlayStation 5 console, the app is now available on that platform.
Amazon IMDb TV App Coming to PS5
The app in question has been available for several months now on Sony’s previous generation console, namely the PS4. Therefore, it was quite logical to wait until it appears on the PS5. In addition, the IMDb TV app is also available on Microsoft’s Xbox Series X and S consoles. In other words, it was only a matter of time before it appeared on the latest Sony consoles.
As they say, better late than never.
For those who don’t know, the IMDb platform is home to more than a huge database of movies and TV shows. With IMDb TV, Amazon offers its customers the opportunity to watch videos completely free of charge. However, the service is funded by advertising. In other words, you will have to watch commercials from time to time, but it ends up being a fairly inexpensive solution for a video-on-demand service that has a fairly large catalog.
Indeed, we find a number of original programs on the IMDb TV service, as well as series and films from other studios such as AMC, NBC, and even some content from Disney Direct-To-Consumer and the International Division. Because this service is free, it’s pretty hard to complain, and it can be a good way to enjoy the breaks when you’re not playing on PS5.
