Santa Monica Studios announces a new milestone in God of War Ragnarok sales.
Last November, God of War Ragnarok sold five million copies in its first week of release, becoming the fastest-selling PlayStation game of all time, and it still holds that record. As of early 2023, PS5 and PS4 exclusivity stands at 11 million copies sold worldwide. A commercial feat that confirms that the Santa Monica Studio license remains important and vital to Sony Interactive Entertainment.

Hermen Hulst, Head of PlayStation Studios at Sony Interactive Entertainment, said:
Congratulations to Santa Monica Studio on this incredible and memorable achievement. Thanks to all our fans.
No DLC for God of War Ragnarok
Despite the excellent sales of God of War Ragnarok, the Santa Monica studio refuses to expand the DLC story, as was already the case with God of War 2018:
It’s already a big piece. We put everything we had into it, so don’t count on it.
Game Director Eric Williams would also like to work on a new Castlevania:
I don’t know what I’m going to do next, but if someone gives me a Castlevania license, we’ll be happy to do it in the Santa Monica studio…
