The increase in the price of PS5 is due to global economic conditions, in particular, high inflation rates.

The global economic environment is a real issue that many of you around the world are no doubt facing. We are seeing high inflation rates around the world, as well as unfavorable currency trends that are affecting consumers and putting pressure on many industries. Due to these difficult economic conditions, we have made the difficult decision to increase the PS5 MSRP in select markets in Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA), Asia Pacific (APAC), Latin America (LATAM), and Canada. There will be no price increase in the US. While this price increase is necessary given the current global economic environment and its impact on our business,

The PS5 price increases by €50 in Europe, £30 in the UK, 5,000 yen in Japan, 400 RMB in China, AU$50 in Australia, MXN 1,000 in Mexico, and CAD$20 in Canada.

Why is the PS5 price going up?
