PUBG New State Renamed to New State Mobile, Sparking PC Version Rumors

PUBG New State has undergone a slight branding change and is now known only as New State Mobile. It’s anyone’s guess what caused this change, but the internet is buzzing with speculation that perhaps Krafton’s plans for New State might go beyond Mobile.

In a recent tweet, New State Mobile stated that the game has always been focused on mobile devices, and the rebrand is the only confirmation of this commitment. However, since PUBG New State is quite far from the traditional PUBG brand in terms of presentation and even gameplay, perhaps New State’s future lies outside of the mobile gaming space.

Crafton recently took PUBG: Battlegrounds on PC and console into a new, free-to-play direction, and perhaps New State could have value as a standalone intellectual property in that space along with PUBG.

New State Mobile: Coming to PC/Console?

The game’s splash screen still says “PUBG New State”, but all promotional materials have the new “New State Mobile”branding, and the app’s name has also been changed to this. Krafton has yet to officially confirm their plans to release New State for consoles and PC.

The popularity of the battle royale genre does not seem to be waning as many studios have shown many innovations in the highly competitive genre. Perhaps Crafton sees New State as a valuable counterpart to PUBG: Battlegrounds as an experience that offers a more futuristic vibe.

“New State Mobile”

The sequel to PUBG: Battlegrounds for PC and consoles has been canceled to focus resources on the current game, leading to a move to free-to-play in 2022. There’s a good chance that maybe New State for PC and mobile will be perfect. replacement.

It will be interesting to see what approach Crafton takes with New State Mobile. For now, the developers have assured that New State Mobile will continue to receive updates throughout the year, with the next scheduled for February.
