Quantic Dream adds staff to develop three games

The development of new Quantic Dream games for consoles and PC is proceeding serenely in studios located in Paris and Montreal.

While several polls, including Tom Henderson’s Xfire Poll, show that Quantic Dream is struggling to attract talent from the video game industry due to fierce competition and heavy allegations of a toxic work culture, CEO Guillaume de Fondomière and head of production Sophie Buhl says the opposite: “In a context still affected by the health crisis, 2021 was marked for Quantic Dream with very good results, a significant increase in our workforce of more than 50% and the creation of various production partnerships.

After a year of continuous growth in our workforce, we are opening a second major recruitment cycle at our two manufacturing sites located in Montreal and Paris. In a constant process of innovation, we are opening up to new types of games and challenges, and we will continue to make great efforts in research and development. This opens up great prospects for those who want to work on ambitious and innovative projects as part of diverse and increasingly feminized teams. ”

Three games in development at Quantic Dream

Quantic Dream also says it is quietly developing its three video games separately, including Star Wars Eclipse in collaboration with Lucasfilm (an adventure game with complex ramifications and multiple playable characters set in the era of the Great Republic). With the completion of the pre-production and prototyping phases, a new phase of production of these new products will begin this year. In addition, the French publisher will help independent studios Parallel Studio and Red Thread Games market their next games.

Note that Detroit: Become Human has surpassed the symbolic milestone of one million copies sold on PC (Steam), allowing the title to now become Quantic Dream’s biggest commercial success with over 6.5 million copies through PS4 sales.
