Dr. Sam Beckett will be replaced by a new team of scientists.
The original Quantum Code series aired from 1989 to 1993 and told the story of Sam Beckett, a scientist who, after a failed experiment, is trapped in time, causing him to jump from one body to another. The reboot of the sequel takes place 30 years after the disappearance of Dr. Sam Beckett in the particle accelerator and focuses on a new character, Dr. Ben Song, played by Raymond Lee. The latter is assigned to lead a new team to uncover mysteries surrounding the original experiment and the missing scientist.

There are several surprises in store for fans of the original series, including the return of some of the original characters and the continuation of some of the most popular storylines. In the cast, Ernie Hudson will play Herbert “Magic”Williams, a character introduced in the third season of the original series. As a veteran of the Vietnam War, he uses his strategic military and political negotiation tactics to advance the Quantum Leap Project. In the new series, Admiral Al Calavicci is also reimagined as Addison (Caitlin Bassett), another important member of the Quantum Leap team who keeps in touch with everyone who travels through time. Nanrisa Lee will play the role of Jenn, the security manager for a highly confidential project.

The TV series Code Quantum will air on NBC on September 19: “30 years ago, Dr. Sam Beckett entered the Quantum Code quantum accelerator and disappeared. A new team has been assembled to revive the project in hopes of understanding the mysteries behind the machine and the man who created it. However, everything changes when Ben makes an unauthorized jump into the past, leaving the team to unravel the mystery of his deed. Along with Ben during his jumps, Addison appears as a hologram that only Ben can see and hear. She is a decorated military veteran who does her job thoughtfully and accurately. Herbert Magic Williams is in charge of this highly confidential operation. a ruthless career soldier who must answer to his superiors, who will not be pleased when they learn of a breach of protocol.
