Racket NX: the first electronic VR game to become an official global sport

The International Racketball Federation (IRF) has officially recognized Racket NX as a sports discipline.

By a decisive vote of the IRF Board of Directors, Racket NX becomes a sports discipline fully sanctioned by a world sports federation recognized by the IOC. The virtual reality rocket-sport game from Israeli studio One Hamsa may soon compete in the Olympic Virtual Series with an official competition.

Assaf Usul Ronen, CEO of One Hamsa, said: “This first-ever certification confirms the fundamental design principles of Racket NX as a fully athletic and intuitive game, allowing players of all racquet sports, not just tennis, racquetball, all racquet movements., except for those that won’t work in a typical living room (like racquetball push-ups or clay tennis sliding) while immersed in a domed, responsive, and sound-filled, purely skill-based game.”

Luc Saint-Onge, Secretary General of the International Racquetball Federation, adds: “When we realized what this coalition could mean not only for our federation, but for racquetball as a whole, we jumped at this chance. It will be a game changer for us and for world sport. We look forward to sharing more as this exciting partnership develops.” Metaverse Sports Association CEO Victor Bond, who led and facilitated this deal, continues: “This is a marriage made in the sports paradise of the future, namely a world-class developer and a unique, successful and wonderful game with an IOC-recognized international sports federation that has a vision. and the courage to not just peek around the corner. but I’m going there. This is a big step in our cooperation and a giant leap for new sports technologies. ”

One Hamsa enjoys the success of Racket NX

Racket NX has already surpassed 300,000 players worldwide, led by the fastest growing VR headset, Meta Quest 2, which has been the most played game since its launch in 2019. Since 2021, we have seen an increase in the number of players on new platforms based in China. Taken together, racquet sports are the largest category of sports in the world, eclipsing even world football.
