BGMI developer Krafton announces hardware ban: Smartphones used for cheating will no longer be able to play BGMI

Recently, cheating has become more of a problem in BGMI and despite the high number of bans every week, players continue to lose their experience due to cheating in games. Perhaps the strongest response to fraud at BGMI, Krafton has now confirmed that scammers will face device bans if they are caught scamming.

The application of this additional measure will begin today, December 24, 2022. “If the use of illegal programs is detected on a mobile device through new security logic being applied,” Krafton said in a notice. “The device will be permanently banned from using BGMI.”Perhaps this could be the perfect anti-cheat solution that BGMI so desperately needed to curb cheating in the game.

Krafton confirms device ban at BGMI

Krafton has been quite active in cracking down on cheating in the game, but so far it didn’t seem like a big deal. However, device bans are a much more permanent solution than simply sanctioning accounts, but the threat of a device ban can simply put players on hold before they start using any third-party cheat programs.

“Until now, sanctions have only been applied to accounts, but now mobile devices will also be banned, which will make a fair gaming experience much more effective,” says Crafton. It will be interesting to see how the player base reacts to this new measure as there is always the possibility of a lot of collateral damage with such measures.

Collateral damage in this case means that sometimes players can be unfairly accused of cheating. It is likely that Krafton will allow players to appeal and try to get their device off the ban list as they are falsely accused of cheating.
