TrollStore Developer opa334 Successfully Fixes Scary Wi-Fi Bug in Fugu15 Jailbreak

If you’ve been following Linus Henze’s Fugu15 jailbreak since it was first announced last October, then you should know that it’s currently a developer-only jailbreak and that a couple of significant caveats prevent it from being completely user-friendly.

Among those caveats are the lack of support for customization injection and an annoying Wi-Fi bug that would break the ability to use Wi-Fi on certain devices. But in light of the successful implementation of settings on the Fugu15 platform last weekend, it seems that even the Wi-Fi bug issue is being resolved.

The announcement comes from TrollStore developer opa334, who just on Wednesday afternoon tweeted an image of the Fugu15 jailbreak app on an iOS 15.1.1 device with a working Wi-Fi connection. Opa334 then challenged his followers to see the important detail in the screenshot, which many people did.

In another tweet posted minutes later, opa334 shared a link to a GitHub page forked from Linus Henze’s Fugu15 project titled “FIX WIFI ERROR”. Another follow-up tweet revealed some important details about the fix:

Wi-Fi should still be disabled during the jailbreak, however with this commit it can be re-enabled after the jailbreak is complete. Once Fugu15 Max is more mature, this will be automatically handled by the app (possibly due to arbitrary rights).

Now that this major hurdle has been removed, developers can spend more time integrating tweak implementations. Although it was demonstrated earlier this week, opa334 warned in the comments on the /r/jailbreak post that it is not yet ready for the public and is still an exit.

Having said all that, while the Fugu15 public jailbreak seems like a very real possibility at the moment, it’s certainly not ready at this second. However, with a little more patience, those who wait will get good things as this developer-only jailbreak comes a few inches closer to the public jailbreak.

Fugu15 is a semi-untethered jailbreak tool with a permanently signed jailbreak app that supports iOS and iPadOS 15.0-15.4.1 on arm64e devices, including iPhone XS and newer. Instead, older devices such as the iPhone X and earlier can use palera1n to jailbreak.
