Xiaomi Redmi 9A and Redmi 9A Sport: specifications and features
In terms of specifications, both phones are powered by the MediaTek Helio G25 chipset. Both Redmi 9A and Redmi 9A Sport are equipped with 5000 mAh batteries. They have HD+ displays and are ditching the metal construction from the more expensive Redmi phones, opting for a polycarbonate design instead.
Specifically, the Redmi 9A has a 6.53-inch HD+ display with a resolution of 1600×720 pixels. There’s also a waterdrop notch on the front that keeps the selfie camera on the device. The Media Tek Helio G25 chipset also has an IMG PowerVR GE8320 GPU and the phone will be available with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage. You can also get the micro-SD expansion which is still popular in this segment. The phone will support 4G LTE connectivity and also has a built-in 3.5mm jack.
While the Redmi 9A has a single 13MP camera on the back, the Redmi 9A Sport has two cameras on the back. It also has an additional shooter that is enhanced by AI algorithms and has an LED flash next to it. There is a 5MP camera on the front of the device and the Redmi 9A Sport battery is also bigger at 5200mAh.
The Redmi 9A Sport also has a P2i coating which should make it a bit water resistant. Both phones run Android 10 out of the box with the Xiaomi MIUI interface.
