The original story is as follows:

Last year, due to an update, the popular Poco X2 camera died. After a strong response, Poco resolved the issue and assured users that their service center would repair the motherboard for free. A few months later, it seems that the problem occurs again, but this time on Xiaomi Redmi Note 10 Pro.

Redmi Note 10 Pro users took to Twitter to express their frustration at the death of the camera after the new update. A day ago, Redmi Note 10 Pro users started receiving the MIUI V12.5.10.0.RKFINXM update, but things went downhill after the device update. Users are reporting that they are unable to use the camera app after the new update.

Redmi Note 10 Pro camera not working after MIUI 12.5 update

A user named Soumyadip posted a video on Twitter claiming that his brother’s Redmi Note 10 Pro selfie camera was not working and that any app using the front camera was crashing. Sumyadeep goes on to add that his brother’s friend had the same problem. Since his phone was under warranty, the service center replaced the motherboard for free, otherwise it would have cost $155 to replace the motherboard.

Another user named Akshay Nair said that after updating his Redmi Note 10 Pro to MIUI V12.5.10.0.RKFINXM, he faced a camera problem on his phone. According to him, the front camera cannot be used in the default camera app because it crashes again and again. All apps that use the front camera like Duo or Whatsapp also crash. However, after rebooting the device, the front camera resumes normal operation, he states.

Twitter user Abhishek Yadav tweeted back on January 15 that two Redmi Note 10 Pro users informed him that their front camera was not working after the MIUI 12.5.9 update.

However, this is not the first time that a MIUI update has caused issues for Xiaomi/Poco users. As mentioned earlier, the Poco X2’s camera started crashing after an update that caused a lot of buzz. However, Poco resolved the issue by stating that the problem was minor and that they would fix the motherboard for free.

If you encounter this problem, we suggest that you restart your phone.
