Overwatch 2 is the sequel to the popular Overwatch game released back in 2016. OW 2 has dozens of new game features, more than enough to keep you entertained for hours. Since the game comes out on October 4th for almost all gaming platforms, the game is doing well. Overwatch 2 offers players several game modes such as Deathmatch, Capture the Flag, Escort, Hybrid, etc. Ranked or competitive play is a mode that is responsible for increasing or decreasing your rank. However, competitive play in Overwatch 2 is not available from the start. However, check out this guide for the steps to unlock ranked play in OW2.
How to Unlock Competitive Play in Overwatch 2 – Ranked Play
Players who had access to competitive play in Overwatch 1 will already have access to it in Overwatch 2. While those who started playing right now may have to work a little harder. To unlock ranked play, players need to complete the first user experience (FTUE) and win 50 matches in quick play. Also, keep in mind that only RPGs and open queue games count, not Mystery Heroes or Deathmatch. You can team up with your friends to take on enemy teams and climb up the ranks quickly.
In addition, by playing 50 matches to unlock Ranked Play, you will also prepare players for a tough battle in Overwatch 2. Plus, it doesn’t take long to complete OW2 Quick Play matches. Previously in Overwatch 1, the player needed to reach level 25 to unlock competitive play. By comparison, unlocking Comparatively Play matches in Overwatch 2 is a bit more difficult than in Overwatch 1.
