A new Vivo Y-series smartphone is in development. The Chinese smartphone giant may soon release the Vivo Y55s. The company has yet to confirm official launch details for the upcoming Vivo smartphone. However, some key details of the device have leaked online. The Vivo Y55s will launch in China on December 4, according to a China Telecom listing revealed by GizmoChina. According to the China Telecom listing, the Vivo Y55s will go on sale on December 4th. The listing also indicates that there is a dual camera on the back of the device. It will contain a 50-megapixel main camera sensor and a secondary 2-megapixel sensor, which is likely designed for depth measurement. For selfies, the device will be equipped with an 8-megapixel front camera sensor. This front camera will be placed inside the water notch at the top of the display.
The screen has thin bezels, except for a comparatively thicker chin. It will feature a 6.58-inch IPS LCD display with Full HD+ resolution. It is likely that the device will support a 60Hz refresh rate. The listing also states that the phone will measure 163.87 x 75.33 x 9.17mm and weigh 199 grams.
Under the hood is a MediaTek Dimensity 700 SoC. It will likely launch in a single storage configuration with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage. Vivo is also likely to offer virtual memory support. Under the hood of the phone is a powerful 6000mAh battery with support for 18W fast charging.
It will run Android 11 out of the box with an Origin OS layer on top. The phone comes with connectivity options such as Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, 3.5mm headphone jack, USB Type-C port, dual SIM, etc. It is expected to be launched in China at a price of 1899 yuan and will be available in three colors: Ceramic Black, Mirror Lake Blue and Cherry Pink Meteor.
