Death Stranding was one of the first major PlayStation games to come out on PC, and the Director’s Cut has now been approved for the platform as well. Earlier this week, rumors spread that maybe Sony and Kojima Productions wanted to bring the Director’s Cut to PC via the Epic Games Store and Steam, and they’ve now confirmed it.
The Director’s Cut features all sorts of new content, including a very fun kart racing mode that’s as ridiculously fun as it sounds. Along with that, there are also several Metal Gear Solid-like levels where the player, as Sam, has to sneak through MULE stations. The game is set to release on Steam and the Epic Games Store in Spring 2022, Kojima Productions has not currently confirmed an exact release date.
Death Stranding Director’s Cut Confirmed for PC Release
Director’s Cut on PC will include Intel’s new AI scaling technology, XeSS. The Director’s Cut, along with graphical updates to the original, also provides some additional story content, as well as new weapons and features. For PlayStation users, upgrading the PS4 version of Death Stranding to the Director’s Cut requires players to pay for the upgrade path, which costs $6.
Death Stranding Director’s Cut for PC will definitely feature new visual updates that better suit the platform and help the game make the most of powerful hardware in high-end settings.
Hideo Kojima, the creative force behind Death Stranding and Kojima Productions, has hinted that the studio is working on a “radical project”alongside film production efforts. It will be interesting to see what Kojima’s next big project will be, given how much buzz has been around the Silent Hill franchise lately.
