Robin de Bois: a new French film about the prince of thieves will see the light of day

An ambitious feature film about Robin Hood, Lord of Loxley, who robs the rich to give to the poor, is currently in production in France.

Seven years after Anthony Marciano’s Robin Hood with Max Boublil, Gaumont and Albertine Productions announce the development of a new feature film about the legendary hero of the English Middle Ages, hiding in the famous forest of Sherwood and Barnsdale. The production was entrusted to Ludovic Bernard (Ascension, The Mission Pays Basque, On the Fingers, 10 Days Without Death, Lupine), who is also in charge of the script with the help of Julien Lambroschini (A Trip to Brazil), “Relax”, “Le excellent bath).

French film “with huge ambitions”for Robin de Bois

Mathieu Tarot, Robin Hood producer at Albertine Productions, says:

Robin Hood’s ambitions are huge. Robin is a bandit with a big heart. He is a Saxon, he falls in love with a Norman, he is loyal to the king and redistributes wealth. After Erroll Flynn, Walt Disney’s fox and Kevin Costner, we want to bring a French touch to this modern day hero. I am very proud to have starred in this great adventure film with Gaumont in an invaluable relationship of trust and loyalty.
