Rockstar Games recently released Grand Theft Auto Online and GTA V for PS5 and Xbox Series X, but not all games are new. The publisher recently announced a new subscription service called “GTA+”exclusively for Grand Theft Auto Online on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S.
This $5.99 subscription service will provide players with a monthly GTA$500,000 deposit each month along with select in-game vehicles, loot, clothing, bonus XP, and cash for select in-game events.
The service launches on March 29th and the first month of membership will run from March 29th to April 27th. Along with the gameplay benefits and a monthly cash deposit, players can additionally take advantage of special GTA+ Shark cards that provide additional cash bonuses in the PlayStation Store. /Microsoft Store.

List of rewards included in the subscription service:
- GTA$500,000 is automatically credited to your Maze Bank account.
- Principe Deveste Eight – along with a free Hao Special Works update for it before it’s available for purchase to the general public – plus HSW Orange Trip and HSW CMYK Glitch liveries.
- The Auto Shop, located in La Mesa, features an assortment of gameplay updates from Los Santos Tuners. Current auto shop owners can move to La Mesa at no additional cost.
- Waiver of LS Car Meet membership fees. Current LS Car Meet members with GTA+ will receive a GTA$50,000 refund during this event period.
- Yacht owners can upgrade to Aquarius at no additional cost.
- The Gussét Frog tee and the Broker Prolaps basketball tee and shorts are automatically added to your wardrobe.
- Conveyor skin for Mammoth Avenger, HVY APC and TM-02 Khanjali.
- A selection of free paints and emblems for the Auto Shop.
- 3x GTA$ & RP for the Hao Special Works Race Series.
- Two-time representation of automobile meetings in a series of street races.
Reaction to the announcement has been mixed, to say the least, as it’s another layer of microtransactions in a game that’s been called “pay to win”on multiple occasions. While Rockstar often releases seasonal updates, with the last few updates being particularly successful, the announcement of this service has not been well received by the community.
While the service allows new players to get a solid footing in the game right away, the general feeling in the community is that the rewards just aren’t worth the monthly fee. It will be interesting to see how Grand Theft Auto Online fares on new consoles and whether it can last another generation of consoles in its current state.
