Rode Streamer X combines an audio interface with an external capture card.

Rode expands its streaming portfolio with the audio-only Streamer X and Rodecaster Duo.

When Rode began bringing gaming audio accessories to market late last year, the two announced rights to the brand’s products, the lex XDM-100 and XCM-50, built on existing developments. Rode X’s latest accessory, the Streamer X, offers something different. The device combines an audio interface with an external capture card.

Thus, XLR and line microphones and headphones can be connected to the Streamer X, and the built-in Rode Revolution preamp provides all the power you need. At the same time, the device can also capture and stream video in 4K at 30fps or 2K at 60fps. There is also a video pass-through mode up to 4K and 60 fps or 2K and 120 fps.

On the front of the accessory is a set of four customizable buttons that you can configure to trigger specific sounds or actions on your computer. Two USB-C ports also allow you to connect the Streamer X to two different computers at the same time. The device is fully compatible out of the box with Rode’s suite of software tools, including Unify, Rode Central and Rode Connect.

and Rodecaster Duo, audio only

In addition, Rode also announced the Rodecaster Duo, a new audio interface that combines all the features found in the Rodecaster Pro II but in a much more compact package. This means it should be able to handle the most power-demanding microphones without the need for a signal booster, and Bluetooth connectivity is expected for audio tracking.

Rode did not reveal pricing for either the Streamer X or the Rodecaster Duo, but said both devices will be available in the coming weeks. To be continued!
