As Kratos and Atreus continue their adventure through the Nine Realms, they face many threats. One of them includes the duo Valkyrie, Hrist & Mist. While thankfully Kratos doesn’t have to deal with them alone, Atreus can help fend off these Valkyries. Regardless, as they gain more power from the Allfather, you may need some extra help. How to defeat Christ and Mist in God of War Ragnarok
You will encounter Christ and the Mist in Muspelheim during the Summoning Story quest in GoW Ragnarok. Luckily, you don’t have to deal with both of them at the same time. So, it’s time to update Atreus’s archery accessories. These Valkyries share the same health bar as it depletes together. But they are replenished, therefore, by the power of the All-Father, Odin. On top of that, they also become much more aggressive with each phase of the boss fight. With the right timing when you block, dodge, or parry their attacks, it should be fairly easy to defeat them.
These Valkyries have three phases and a shared health bar with three difficulty levels. But since there is not much difference in their attacks, defeating them will be a breeze.

Let’s take a closer look at all three stages to defeat the Valkyries, Christ and Mist in GoW Ragnarok:
Phase 1
- The attack models of both Valkyries are quite simple and normal. You can easily break their wings and projectiles. But be careful of their attacks when they switch places.
- You can use the appropriate Runic Attacks with your Leviathan Ax to damage them. Most Christos and Mist attacks can be parried.
- When you parry their attacks, watch for an opening. During this period, they may be most vulnerable. And if you time it right, you’ll be able to detonate their combos.
- When they rotate their wings together, Christos and Mist have the potential to deal the most damage to you. For these attacks, dodging is the best option.
- As with most boss fights, Atreus will call out their location to warn you. By trusting him and listening to him, you can also avoid the duo’s attacks.
Once you deplete their first shared health bar, a cutscene will play. During this, Myst knocked Kratos out of the battle arena and the duo grabbed Atreus.
Phase 2
The second stage will begin with Kratos saving Atreus from Christ and the Mist in GoW Ragnarok. This phase will be a bit more difficult as the Valkyrie duo will be flying around the battle arena.
- So close the distance and avoid ranged combat against them. This is because the Valkyries duo have multiple area attacks in their sleeves or wings.
- When they unleash these attacks, the ground will be illuminated with red glowing circles.
- Once they are highlighted, move to the side to avoid damage from the impact.
- When the odds seem against you, feel free to use Spartan Rage on Kratos and Atreus. Be sure to use the best shields in this step.
The second phase of this boss fight will end when you deplete their total health bar.
Phase 3
- While attack models and style won’t change much, Christos and Myst will have a lot of power for the final phase. Their attacks will be much more aggressive and offensive.
- But having said that, you can balance that with perfect timing and defense.
- When they close their wings around them, keep attacking them to break their defenses.
- You can switch between your weapons to deal with a couple.
- When they attack while jumping, dodge to protect yourself. You need to watch out for their AoE attacks as they can deal some serious damage.
- In addition, you can look for Fury Stones and Health Stones scattered around the arena to gain some health. Keep your best defense and attack them as soon as you see a loophole.
Once you deplete their last health bar, Atreus will transform into Bjorn to finish off Christ and Myst. You will receive 5,000 Kratos XP, 2,500 Atreus XP, and Stormflame as a reward for completing the boss fight. On top of that, you also get the “Better Together”achievement.
