Samsung Galaxy S21 FE launched at CES 2022

Samsung is using CES 2022 to formalize its Galaxy S21 FE, a value for money device that should be extremely interesting.

At CES 2022, which has just opened, Samsung has formalized its Galaxy S21 FE (for the Fan Edition). The FE line is usually a premium line with very smart technology at the asking price. There are several rumors that the S21 FE will be announced in 2021, but today it is true. Finally officially presented Galayx S21 FE. Here’s everything you need to know.

Samsung uses CES 2022 to formalize its Galaxy S21 FE

The Samsung Galaxy S21 FE smartphone offers a 6.4-inch FHD panel that’s not too big and not too small for most people, another sign that the phone was thought to appeal to the big world. At 74.5 x 155.7 x 7.9mm and weighing 177g, the device is very thin and should be very comfortable to handle and carry. The design logically resembles the original Galaxy S21, but Samsung offers new colors. If some simplifications have been made to the look, we find the look of the S21. And for information, the device is also IP68 certified.

While FHD resolution may seem somewhat simple, you should consider that even devices capable of going further are often set to FHD by default. The screen itself is made on a Samsung Dynamic AMOLED 2X panel with a refresh rate of 120 Hz.

A device with a quality / price ratio that should be very interesting

The Samsung Galaxy S21 FE has a triple-sensor module, the main one being 12MP – dual-pixel autofocus, optical image stabilization and aperture at f/1.8 – 12MP ultra-wide – which is similar to what we find in the S21 and the 8MP telephoto lens – very promising, no details have been released at the time of this writing. This camera module should get very good CAMERA HW ratings, which is very interesting considering the FE series is often affordable.

In terms of performance, the Samsung Galaxy S21 FE should be very interesting too. Samsung has opted for the same 5nm engraved processor as the S21. As is often the case, some countries may have a different processor. Look at the S21 processor, it should be similar for the S21 FE. With a similar platform, this also means the modem is the same. In fact, the connection performance should also be similar.

As a result of racing, no performance compromises seem to have been made and the price/performance ratio should be really impressive. Let’s wait for the first tests to judge what is said.

The official announcement only mentions two options: 6 GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage or 8 GB and 256 GB.

The 4500mAh battery is not unlike the S21 Plus’ 4800mAh battery and can be charged at 25W (wired) or 15W (wireless). Reverse wireless charging is also part of the game, for example to charge your Galaxy Buds Pro.

On paper, this Samsung Galaxy S21 FE is just as successful as its predecessor, with updated specifications. We will have to wait to find out the public prices and do the first tests to judge everything, but this is very promising.
