Developer Lars Fröder (@opa334) on Friday afternoon announced on Twitter the release of the seventh public beta of the Fugu15 Max jailbreak for arm64e devices running iOS and iPadOS 15.0-15.4.1.
Fugu15 Max beta 7 includes the following changes, as noted in the GitHub changelog:
List of changes:
– Fix setuid properly, fix NewTerm and maybe other things – Transition to stable Sileo 2.4 only applicable to new bootloaders
For already downloaded users: get the new Sileo deb file
https://github.com/Sileo/Sileo/releases
and install it manually (the fix for the issue that causes it to crash on startup for some users is still missing, sorry about that, will be fixed soon)
For now, the Fugu15 Max is still developer-only, primarily because it hasn’t been polished to Freder’s taste yet.
Fugu15 Max is currently adding several improvements to the Linus Henze Fugu15 jailbreak, including fixing a terrible Wi-Fi bug, launching tweaks and more. On the other hand, it still lacks a user friendly interface and experience, which is why it is not recommended for all users yet. This will be fixed in due course, along with giving it an official name.
Fugu15 Max is a jailbreak without root. Thankfully, jailbreak tweak developers are making more and more of their tweaks non-root compatible, while major repositories including BigBoss, Chariz, and Havoc have started accepting packages with non-root support.
If you’d like to learn more about Fugu15 Max, or are trying despite our warning not to until it’s out of public beta, then it’s available on the GitHub project page. Please note, however, that if something goes wrong while you are using the public beta and you are not a developer, Fröder will not offer support.
