The television series Severance is set in the modern world, where Mark Scout leads a team at Lumon Industries whose employees have undergone surgery to separate their professional and personal memories. As everything goes like clockwork, this risky experiment in work-life balance is put into question when Mark finds himself at the center of a mystery that will force him to face the true nature of his job as well as her job.

Severance was written and created by Dan Erickson. Mark Friedman, Chris Black, John Cameron and Andrew Colville serve as executive producers along with Dan Erickson. Ben Stiller, Nicky Weinstock and Jackie Cohn also serve as executive producers through Red Hour Productions, with Patricia Arquette and Adam Scott serving as producer and producer respectively.
