Japanese publisher Square Enix will combine collectible characters, storytelling and gameplay with Symbiogenesis.
During the Web3 Conclave, an event organized by the Indian Game Developers Conference (IDGC) that brings together speakers from around the world, Square Enix unveiled Symbiogenesis, its first collection of NFTs based on the Ethereum blockchain scheduled for Spring 2023.

A spokesman for Square Enix stated:
Symbiogenesis is brand new entertainment content set in an offline world where a large number of characters gather, all of which can be collected as digital art, an interactive story, and a dedicated community. The image can be used as a social media profile picture (PFP) and as a character in a story set in an alternate world where the player can “solve”a mystery by completing missions revolving around issues of monopolization and resource allocation. The story unfolds as players act strategically.
