What to expect at Apple’s September 2022 event?
To make the 10th anniversary historic, Apple introduced us to the amazing iPhone X form factor. I can’t believe it’s been 5 years already! Although Apple has made incremental changes over the years, the design language has remained more or less the same.
The notch has been around for a few years now, not that it bothers me much, but changes are always welcome. And while the iPhone 14 rumors will soon be gone, I won’t believe them until Apple’s September 7th presentation.
Notably, the Far Out event will feature not only the iPhone 14, but a host of other Apple devices as well; let’s check the list once.
iPhone 14 lineup
As the leaks suggest, the 14 series will be converted into the iPhone 14, iPhone 14 Max, iPhone 14 Pro, and iPhone 14 Pro Max. Unfortunately, the Mini line will be discontinued. Rumor has it that the satellite link feature is correct for the 14 rulers, and we may see Apple’s implementation for astrophotography.
Apple Watch Series 8 and SE
It looks like the Series 8 will have the long-awaited flat edges. The new temperature sensor is also the icing on the cake with new and improved health tracking. Perhaps the Apple Watch SE could get an update, and we can also expect an updated chipset for the Series 8.
Updated iPad
A design refresh for the regular iPad is long overdue, and we expect Apple to likely change it up in time for the release of the 10th generation iPad. According to rumors, this time the position of the FaceTime camera and TouchID will also be changed.
Maybe a VR helmet?
This may sound too tedious, but maybe the name of the event “Far Out”refers to a virtual reality headset? But after playing the guessing game before almost every recent Apple event, it sounds like this!
Public release of iOS 16
The September event will also mark the official public release of iOS 16 or its announcement. Notably, iPadOS 16 and macOS Ventura are likely pushed back to fall.
