Uber Connect is expanding to thousands of cities in the US, making it easier to deliver packages between people.
Uber is now more than just a chauffeur-driven car company. The American company has diversified its activities, with Uber Eats, in particular, food delivery. It works with autonomous driving technologies from Uber Technologies, recently sold to Aurora, and even offers leasing to rent a car and purchase it at the end of the contract with Uber Rent. Uber Connect, for its part, is a same-day delivery service between individuals, without contact and directly integrated into the application of active users of the application. A service that is expanding in the United States today.
Uber Connect expands to thousands of US cities
Shortly after the Covid-19 pandemic put the world on hiatus in March 2020, Uber launched a package delivery service. Today, the American company is expanding Uber Connect to more than 6,000 cities in Uncle Sam’s Land and adding a number of additional features to it.
As with Uber Eats, delivery workers can now drop off or pick up their packages at their customer’s doorstep. So far, Uber Connect has only officially offered an optional discount. Customers will be able to add invoices or instructions to their courier before the latter arrives to pick up or deliver the package, which can be very useful, for example, to inform that the contents are fragile.
Sending parcels between individuals is always easier
New York, Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, Los Angeles, San Francisco and San Diego are among the major cities that can now take advantage of Uber Connect. At launch, Uber Connect was only available in 25 cities in the US, Australia, and Mexico.
Other companies have been offering similar services for years, such as TaskRabbit. However, the expansion of Uber Connect suggests that the service is so popular that the American company decides to expand its scope, helping families, friends and colleagues in thousands of cities quickly and easily find common ground.
